Gyr, and implemented in the Landis and Gyr Multi Function Unit (MFU) and
Ferranti Multi Rate Unit (MRU)
- Version 2 (1991) to achieve compatibility with IEC, becoming IEC 1107, implemented in
the GEC Polyphase Meter (PPM), and Horstmann Radio Telemeter (RTM), used by South Western
Electricity (SWEB) and East Midlands Electricity (EME)
- Version 3 (1993) modification to allow interogating device
to specify baud rate (not part of IEC)
- Version 4 (1994) update to support dial-up via modem, implemented in Schlumberger PXA
and PXAr and Siemens S4S, used by Northern Electric, NORWEB, MANWEB and SEEBOARD
- Version 5 (1995) update to support Paknet from Vodafone, used by MEB
- Version 6 (1999) update to support GSM, implemented in ABB Vision and Actaris Indigo+,
used by Scottish Power
